Shortly after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine in February 2022, Berlin-based artist Mila Teshaieva travelled to her hometown Kyiv. Her diary contains personal records of the first months of the war in words and images.
Mila’s war diary shot in Ukraine (Bucha, Irpin, Kyiv, Lviv) was exhibited at Museum of European Cultures in Berlin. We collaborated to create the exhibition layouts in English and German. This project was extremely personal to me for multiple reasons, and it’s extremely challengeing for me to find words for it in any language.
